Lisa Price didn’t set out to become a personal trainer. Like many women, her love for fitness began casually, with cut out articles from the Sunday paper and regular gym visits in her 20s. But after becoming a mum and working in the admin side of a women’s fitness business, Lisa discovered a huge gap in support and education for women during and after pregnancy. Her own traumatic birth experience deepened her desire to learn more and help others.
Taking the Leap
Determined to make a difference, Lisa applied for a scholarship with the Australian Institute of Fitness, and got it. She left behind three part-time jobs to study full time. In a classroom filled with both energetic youth and note taking mums, Lisa found her place and her passion. Though she had worked as a legal secretary for 15 years, she knew this was where she truly belonged.
Lisa’s journey into fitness began with a hustle, six days a week working the floors of a franchise gym, teaching classes, and learning the names of everyone she met. When a friend handed her five clients, she saw the chance to try group training. That opportunity blossomed into a thriving business: Body Reset Fitness, now home to over 75 clients.
A Space for Every Woman
Lisa now offers a wide variety of training options. From her home studio to outdoor sessions at a local school and mums and bubs classes at a Girl Guides hall, she makes fitness accessible for every woman. Her online program, supported by nine MumSafe trainers, ensures no one misses out, regardless of their location or schedule.
Lisa’s approach to fitness is holistic. “We’re not just training for today, we’re future-proofing our bodies,” she explains. She emphasizes sleep, mobility, rehabilitation, and mental health, working alongside allied health professionals to ensure her clients are supported in every way. Educational masterclasses and individualized programs ensure women know not just what to do—but why they’re doing it.
Learning the Hard Way
Like many new business owners, Lisa struggled with boundaries early on. She said yes to everyone, stretched herself thin, and sacrificed time with her family. It took years, and help from others to align her business with her personal values. Now, she’s more intentional about scheduling downtime, her own workouts, and even when she checks emails.
Real Wins, Real Impact
The most rewarding part of Lisa’s journey? Seeing her clients thrive. Whether it’s booking long overdue health checkups or building strength post-childbirth, these wins matter. One client’s daughter recently said, “Mum, you’re strong”, a moment Lisa says makes everything worth it.
Advice for Aspiring Trainers
Lisa encourages women considering a career in fitness to take the leap. “I started at 38, and now at 47, I’m just getting started,” she shares. Her biggest tips? Get educated, listen deeply, and don’t wait until everything’s perfect. There’s never a ‘right’ time—just the time you decide to begin.
Creating Lasting Change
Lisa Price isn’t just running fitness classes, she’s building a movement. One that uplifts, educates, and empowers women to take control of their health. Through Body Reset Fitness, she’s creating a ripple effect, one strong, informed, and supported woman at a time.
